The Location

Where you will be staying

Thornham is one of North Norfolk's famous coastal villages. It's history goes way back to smuggling days and the pub The Lifeboat, still retains a super atmosphere of dark cosy bars, great food and roaring fires. The walk from the village down past the famous Coal Shed, the subject of thousands of paintings and photographs, to the wild sea over the salt marsh is one of Norfolk's finest. You will be rewarded with a wide expanse of beach with beautiful dunes and probably not see anyone else.

Thornham is well provided with some incredible places to eat and amenities. Thornham Deli is a one stop shop for great bistro food, home lifestyle shopping and a playground. A bit further along you have Drove Orchards, home to many interesting and independent buisnesses, including Eric's Fish and Chips (A must!) Cider Barn Antiques and Mim's Icecream parlour, amongst them.

The Orange Tree is another very popular place to eat, especially in the summer, where you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

If bird watching is your thing, you will be spoilt. RSPB Titchwell is just on your doorstep where you can witness the magnificent bird migration in the autumn with thousands of geese arriving, seemingly overnight. To go to sleep to the sound of them flying over is another of Norfolk's wonderful experiences.
